A threshold between the seen and unseen.
This one-of-a-kind ritual artefact is handcrafted from a pair of found deer jawbones joined with sculptural silver soldered metalwork. Suspended between them rests a luminous natural agate slice—its banded center reminiscent of an ancient eye, a forgotten moon, or a doorway waiting to be opened. Crowning the piece is a smoky quartz point, long associated with grounding, protection, and the quiet mystery of the liminal.
Below, a hand-formed metal dish serves as a resting place for a small candle, herbs, offerings, ash, water, or treasured ritual objects. When illuminated by candlelight, the agate catches and softens the flame, transforming into a natural focal point for meditation, contemplation, or symbolic scrying. Traditionally, scrying is the practice of entering a reflective, meditative state while gazing into a mirror or other reflective surface.
Whether displayed as a woodland altar, a candle holder, a devotional shrine, or simply as a piece of gothic natural history, The Spirit Gate is intended to evoke quiet reverence and imagination.
