The Grave Key
Necromancer Collection
Not every door was made for the living.
Forged from naturally found bone, this one-of-a-kind artefact evokes the shape of an ancient ceremonial sword, though it was never intended for battle. Its purpose is symbolic—a key, a marker, a relic carried by those who walk the threshold between memory and myth.
The handle is formed from a naturally weathered long bone, carefully stained by hand to deepen its age and reveal the warmth hidden within the ivory. Carved into its surface is an Icelandic galdrastafir associated with necromancy and communion with the dead, transforming the bone into a vessel of forgotten lore.
A vertebra forms the crossguard, giving the piece an unmistakably skeletal silhouette. Rising from its center is another vertebra crowned by a substantial polished garnet set within a sculpted metal setting. Long revered as a stone of vitality, courage, and enduring devotion, the garnet stands in quiet contrast to the aged bone beneath it—a reminder that life and death have always shared the same road.
Created as a sculptural object rather than a functional tool, The Grave Key is intended as a conversation piece, altar object, cabinet-of-curiosities specimen, or heirloom for those drawn to folklore, gothic natural history, and the poetry of forgotten things.
