A tiny relic of summer, preserved in copper.
This one-of-a-kind ring features a real cicada, found naturally deceased on the beach and carefully electroformed in copper, preserving the incredible texture and detail of its wings, body, and legs. Rather than casting or recreating the insect, the original cicada itself remains within the finished piece.
Cicadas have long carried symbolism surrounding transformation, rebirth, emergence, immortality, and the cycles of life and death — spending years hidden beneath the earth before returning briefly to the light. This little creature felt worthy of being preserved rather than left to disappear.
The copper has been given a dark, aged finish that settles into the intricate details of the cicada, giving the ring the feeling of an unearthed botanical specimen or tiny archaeological relic.
