Tidemother’s Relic

A One-of-a-Kind Sylvan Bones Artefact

Some objects feel less like they were made, and more like they were discovered.

The Tidemother’s Relic is an original Sylvan Bones artefact built around a naturally weathered driftwood spire, sculpted by years of water, wind, and time. Rather than reshaping its form, I chose to preserve the wood’s natural hollows, grain, and flowing silhouette, allowing the driftwood itself to tell the story.

A hand-sculpted silver-toned setting cradles genuine fossil ammonites on both the front and back, symbols of ancient oceans and the endless cycles of nature. The sculptural setting is adorned with natural seashells, freshwater pearls, soft rose quartz cabochons, luminous amethyst cabochons, and a tranquil blue chalcedony, echoing treasures gathered from forgotten shores.

The handle is carved from a solid piece of translucent fluorite in the form of a mermaid’s tail, glowing with gentle shades of lavender and violet that shift beautifully in the light.

Neither blade nor wand, this piece exists somewhere between ritual tool, coastal relic, and sculptural art. Whether displayed upon an altar, nestled among an oddities collection, or simply appreciated as a conversation piece, it invites its keeper to imagine the stories it may have carried through forgotten tides.
